‘ON THE VERGE' (OTV), is an exciting new platform celebrating emerging female filmmakers in all spectrums. We will be launching a three-day event at The Hospital Club presenting short films, docs, art films, music video, panel discussions and stand up comedy.

 

The event is organised and curated by filmmakers Riffy Ahmed and Jacqueline Pepall who are currently the 'Emerging Creatives' for Film and TV 2016/17 with director Amanda Brennan.

 

RIFFY AHMED
JACQUELINE PEPALL
 
is an award-winning director for film and television. Her recent credits include the short film Visiting Mr Keats (Best Short - NYC Indie Film Awards 2016, Best Comedy - Los Angeles Independent Film Festival Awards 2016), the television series Then Dance (Sky Arts /Arts Council England 2014-2016, British National Lottery Award nominee - Best Use of Public Funds).

 

Jacqueline runs the independent production company Great Lake Films. She also works closely with the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, directing films for the MA in Screen Acting programme. The UK Trade and Investment Commission recently selected Jacqueline for their 'UK Talent Goes to Hollywood' initiative. Jacqueline is the 2016/2017 Hospital Club Foundation's Emerging Creative for Film and Television.

AMANDA BRENNAN

 

Amanda Brennan has directed and produced a series of award-winning short films. She is the director of Letters to April (2016), and Birthcloud (2015), which won Best Supporting Actress and Best Ensemble Cast in Monaco International Film Festival in 2015.

 

Amanda is a principal lecturer in Acting at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama in London and also works as a freelance acting coach. Recent projects include Genius (2018), Journey's End (2018), and Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children (2016). She is also the author or The Energetic Performer.

is an award-winning film director and visual artist. Her work has been screened and exhibited in various festivals and platforms such as Channel 4, Arte Creative, London Film Festival, ICA, INtransit / Nour Arts Festival and Saatchi Gallery.

 

She runs an art collective called SPECULAR, presenting multi-disciplinary art shows presenting film, performance, installation and music working with artists and musicians with roots from different Arab and diaspora identities.

 

It is her utmost mission to tell intriguing stories and bring unlikely characters on screen and within multidisciplinary experiences.  She is currently developing her short film, Afloat and This Be The Answer, with B3Media.
